An extraordinary sitting has been scheduled by Parliament for next Monday.
PNC Parliamentary Leader Ibrahim Falah has told Mihaaru News that the purpose of the extraordinary sitting was to appoint a President each to the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) and the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
Falah said that even though the aforementioned is the main reason for the sitting, the opportunity to conduct other works will be present, with the full agenda having not been decided yet.
"It has been a while since the HRCM and CSC have had their respective Presidents. That is the main reason for the sitting. If any other works are to be put into the agenda, then we will make them known," said Falah.
This is the second time Parliament is holding an extraordinary sitting this year, post their second session and while in recess.
