Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel has stated that one of the towers under the Gedhoruveriya project is now ready for accommodation, with them allowing people to start moving in this week.
Speaking to Mihaaru News, Hamdhan said that the company is working towards making it so that the tower is livable by the end of the week so that people can start moving in.
FDC is currently working on Tower 32, a building with 17 to 18 floors and 4,000 flats in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
As per FDC's latest calculations, around 3,000 people have signed the flat agreements. The agreements are signed in order of flat completion.
FDC sent a message to flat owners that they can now start paying off their security deposits via the company portal.
The project is being conducted under two Indian companies. There are two-room apartments and three-room apartments. The two-room apartments are being given for MVR 7,000, with a maintenance fee of MVR 1,000 and security deposit of MVR 15,000.
The three-room apartments are being given for MVR 9,500, with a maintenance fee of MVR 1,500 and a security deposit of MVR 25,000.
The Gedhoruveriya list that was announced under the previous administration was reviewed by the current government, with them checking who met the requirements and releasing an eligibility list in April 2025. However, the public expressed concern over the fact that the first list cannot be looked over for a second one. And so the administration decided on following the list that was released in November 2023.
The Housing Ministry has previously said that flats should be ready for accommodation by the end of the month.
