Three individuals have been appointed to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) today, with current CSC President Mohamed Nasih to retain his position.

Three CSC members were to see their terms end on 3rd September. In light of that, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu recommended six names to Parliament. After a committee review, the names were sent to the Parliament floor where three were to be appointed: Mohamed Nasih (to retain his current position), Dr. Dheeba Moosa and Dr. Hussain Faiz.

Supreme Court Judge Ali Rasheed led the oath-taking ceremony held this morning at the President's Office. The appointment letters were handed over by President Muizzu.

Dr. Dheeba is Health Minister Nazim's spouse and has also served as Deputy Vice Chancellor at the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) in the past. Dr. Faiz was a former Secretary General to the Supreme Court.

Nasih was appointed to the CSC in 2020, with him applying for the position of Commission President. Nasih, along with other members of CSC, had earlier been looked into by the standing committee of the parliament over an issue, with work being done for members to be removed. Even though it was a sensitive issue, Nasih came through unscathed, with other members having been removed.
