First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has stated today that Ahmadhiyya International School is an educational institution that has grown from a seed planted long ago and has grown into a tree of knowledge, with the country enjoying the fruits of its labor.

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has stated today that Ahmadhiyya International School is an educational institution that has grown from a seed planted long ago and has grown into a tree of knowledge, with the country enjoying the fruits of its labor.

First Lady Sajidha had spoken at the school school's award ceremony where its students had achieved exceptional results in the O'levels. She acknowledged their efforts during the ceremony and stated that there are many lessons to be learnt from the institution.

As per the First Lady, the school is a tree of knowledge that was planted by residents of Machchangoalhi, and that this shows the bond of community and the well-wishes parents have for each other in their hearts.

What started as a district school, Ahmadhiyya was opened on 21st February 1982. The school only had 200 students during the beginning, but has grown to educate 2,700 students within its walls.

The First Lady said that their students are responsible and well mannered, who have been garnering achievements at a national level.

The First Lady said that it made her incredibly happy to officiate the ceremony due to Ahmadhiyya being the school where she began her education. She was grateful and thankful for the opportunity and for allowing her to recall those memories.

The First Lady stated that the journey of learning is one without end and is something that the students will come to know in time. She also said that the seas of knowledge are deep and to work hard to find pearls of wisdom in said seas.

The First Lady went on to say that it is important to be true to oneself and to abide by Islam's teachings while being faithful to the nation. She also said that the blessings of both worlds await those who understand the importance of having good faith character, being Maldivian who are knowledgeable about the country and the wider world.

She said that those who give attention to these things will lead an honorable and free life.

The First Lady said that those who attain knowledge are those who are kind to their parents and respect their elders. They are those who are also kind to children and work towards bringing society closer together.

She advised all children to be patriotic and be driven by Islamic characteristics. She asked teachers to set an example of themselves for their students in classrooms and for parents to do the same in their households.
