The HA. Kelaa boat that ran aground on the Kulhudhuffushi reef and sank yesterday has now been salvaged.
The DML Express 5, a supply boat, ran aground the reef after engine repairs had been done at Kulhudhuffushi. It was attempting to leave for Kelaa before it encountered engine troubles.
Kulhudhuffushi Council has confirmed that the boat that left the Bodu Muhammadhu Kaleyfaanu Harbor southwestward has been salvaged this morning. The boat has been taken to Kulhudhuffushi's MPL Port.
Former Kelaa Council President and a shareholder of the boat Adam Gufran told Mihaaru News last night that the boat had no cargo on at the time of the incident.
He stated there were four Maldivians and six Bangladeshi's when the boat had run aground and that everyone was in good health.
