Brigadier General Nasheed retires after 37 years of service

Brigadier General Ahmed Nasheed has retired from Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) after 37 years of service.

Brigadier General Ahmed Nasheed has retired from Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) after 37 years of service. 

A special retirement ceremony for Brigadier General Nasheed was held at Bandaara Koshi last night, with Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon attending as Guest of Honour. 

At the ceremony, the Minister presented to Nasheed a letter from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in recognition of his long and dedicated service. 

Nasheed was serving as Director General of the Directorate of Logistics and Resource Management and Ordnance Service Commander. 

During his years of service, Nasheed also filled the posts of Principal Director at the Directorate of Logistics and Ordnance Service Commander, as well as Commanding Officer and Commanding Officer of Quartermaster Service. He then worked as Commanding Officer of the Special Protection Group and Commanding Officer of the Transport Service and Commanding Officer of the Supply Unit. 

At the time of retirement, Nasheed held the fourth highest rank in the service, that of Brigadier General. Ranks above this are Major General, Lieutenant General and General.
