Work to start this year on 30 bed hospital in Nolhivaram

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that a 30 bed hospital will be built in HDh Nolhivaram, and that work on the project will commence within the year. 

The President visited Nolhivaram today as part of his ongoing visit to HDh atoll. Addressing the residents, the President acknowledged that health services are in dire need of advancement on the island. 

To address this, the government has decided to build a 30 bed hospital on the island which has a population of about 2000. 

The President said that while the hospital project progresses, improvements will be brought to the existing health centre in the interim.

As such, the government has plans to hire an internal medicine consultant, as well as provide X-ray machines and dental equipment in the near future. 

In addition to Nolhivaram, the government has also announced development of hospitals in HDh. Hanimaadhoo, Sh. Milandhoo, N. Velidhoo, K. Thulusdhoo, ADh. Maamigili, V. Felidhoo and Th. Vilufushi. These projects have already been awarded to various companies.
