Dead body discovered in Hulhumale' water theme park area

A dead body has been found at the disused land plot given to build a water theme park in Hulhumale'. 

Police confirmed the discovery, adding that officers are now active on the scene. 

No further details have been disclosed as of yet. 

The Hulhumale' Water Theme Park was contracted to Waterfront and Leisure company in 2017. The project initially started, with some buildings being constructed on the site. 

The project then ground to a halt and for years, the area has been left unused and going to ruin.

There have been public complaints that the abandoned buildings and area are being used for gang activity.
