During President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's visit to AA. Ukulhas last night, an island that experiences tourism in a higher degree than most, a child from the island handed a letter to the President.
While the President didn't read it immediately, he pointed out that it would be best read during the meeting with the residents.
"I noticed this during my visits to the islands, with children handing me a letter as I disembarked onto Ukulhas while discussing the matter. I will read the letter as is," President Muizzu said during his speech at the meeting.
"We [the children] want to go to the beach. But the guests behave in a naughty manner. They wear indecent clothing at the beach, at the restaurants and even on the roads," the President read.
The President said that the letter contained "a well-done drawing" as well.

While speaking about the subject matter in the letter, President Muizzu said that a lot of thought goes into local tourism within the islands.
He requested that even though citizens benefit greatly from the tourism industry, it should also look at and observe what is not allowed within Islam.
He went on to say that even though beds should be increased for tourism, it should be done within the confines of Maldivian law and the rules it entails.
"This is not directed at any specific resort. Actions that may be permitted at resorts and safaris simply wouldn't and shouldn't be allowed on the islands. We should, in the future, proceed to follow the law and Islamic guidelines as best as we can," said the President.
President Muizzu outlined that the fruits of labor will flourish when Islam is respectfully observed even in touristic business practices, and to have this line of thinking when promoting guest houses and the tourism industry.

President Muizzu advised that such actions that have been forbidden by the Almighty should not be done either openly or in secret.
AA. Atoll is an up-and-coming tourist region. There are dedicated "bikini beaches" set aside for tourists on various islands.
