Police have arrested three individuals in relation to the murder of AbduRahman. 

AbduRahman was found in the early hours of July 13 in his bedroom with severe injuries to his head. Although he was rushed to the AA. Maalhos Health Centre, he passed away due to the severity of his injuries a few hours later. 

Police stated that three individuals have been arrested, but did not provide any further details. 

The three individuals arrested are all residents of Maalhos, according to Mihaaru News. 

Police are yet to disclose any details regarding the investigation into AbduRahman's death. 

Earlier this month, Police searched the residences of three individuals in Maalhos, and seized clothes from one individual. It is these three individuals that Police have now arrested, according to sources. 

The three, although all serving jobs, are said to have been awake and active on the island on the night of AbduRahman's death. One of the individuals is reported to have spoken about AbduRahman's death with a family member over a phone call before his death became public knowledge. 

Police also earlier seized AbduRahman's wife, Nazima Ibrahim's phone, but later returned it. 

Police received reports of AbduRahman's death at around 1:50am on July 13. Although Maalhos does not have a permanent Police presence, officers went to the island at around 3am on the night and commenced investigations. 

The area surrounding AbduRahman's residence, where he was attacked, remains closed off to date. Police have stationed themselves at the Maalhos Health Centre. 

Police, through their investigation, also gathered CCTV footage from the few cameras installed on the island. 

Interviewed on the day by Mihaaru journalists, Nazima said that she had discovered AbduRahman seriously injured when she had gone into his bedroom to use the attached bathroom at around 1am on the night of the attack. Some witnesses who went to the house following the attack have said that there was blood splatter reaching the ceiling of the room AbduRahman had been attacked in. 

On the night of the attack, AbduRahman and his wife had slept in separate rooms. Of their three sons, only one resides on the island. However, he, too, had been on a trip to Male' on the night of the attack. Hence, the couple had been alone at home on the night. 

Residents of Maalhos have said that they are not aware of any disputes that AbduRahman may have had with anyone. Residents claim that Maalhos is largely crime-free and suspect that outsiders must have come on to the island and committed this crime. 

AbduRahman's body was taken to India where a post mortem was conducted. Police said that the report concludes that AbduRahman had died due to the injuries to his head.
