Journalism Awards 2025 received 92 nominees

Maldives Media Council's (MMC) Journalism Awards 2025 saw 92 nominees being sent in to the council.

The aim of MMC's Journalism Awards are intended to support Maldivian journalists, acknowledge their contributions, and advance ethical journalism while also raising the caliber of their work.

The award categories are:

1. Investigative Journalism

2. Social Impact Journalism

3. Political Journalism

4. Judicial and Legal Journalism

5. Business and Economic Journalism

6. Sports Journalism

7. Photojournalism

8. Documentary Journalism

9. Feature Journalism

10. Lifestyle, Entertainment and the Arts Journalism

11. Environment and Sustainable Development

12. Most Promising Journalist

13. Journalist of the Year Award

14. Best Regional Newspaper Award

The nomination window opened on 13th July, with two extensions being given since.
