President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has asserted today that his administration always remains on the side of the people, declaring there is nothing more important than that.

The President made these remarks while addressing the residents of Hithaadhoo on his stop on the island during his ongoing visit to Baa Atoll.

The President said that many efforts have been made over the past year and a half to implement the government's policies.

He said that special priority is placed on ensuring all islands are provided services equally. Many development projects have been assigned to companies, with some currently underway, he said.

The President said that he is aware that residents of some islands hold reservations regarding some development projects, but assured that no such project would be carried out in a way that contradicts the people's wishes.

He said that some islands do not wish for the roads to be paved or laid with tar. In such cases, road development would be carried out through taking these reservations into account, he said. He assured that roads of Hithaadhoo will also be developed in a concept that receives residents' approval.

During his visit to Hithaadhoo, an agreement was signed assigning MTCC to carry out land reclamation on the island, an another tasking FDC to build a multipurpose hall in the island's school.
