President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has this morning commenced travels to Baa Atoll.
The President's Office said that this will be a four day trip, in which the President will visit all thirteen inhabited islands in the atoll.
The President will first be visiting B. Kamadhoo, followed by Kudarikilu, Kendhoo and Eydhafushi today.
In the coming days, the President will also be visiting Fulhadhoo, Thulhaadhoo, Dharavandhoo, Kihaadhoo, Hithaadhoo, Goidhoo, Maalhos, Fehendhoo and Dhonfanu, the President's Office said.
During the visits, the President will be meeting with the islands' councils, Women's Development Committees and seniors of other institutions on the islands.
He will also be inaugurating various development projects in the islands, and introducing new initiatives as well.
The President's Office said that these visits are part of the President's aim to fulfil his pledge to conduct two visits to each inhabited island within his term in office.
The President is accompanied by some cabinet ministers and heads of SOEs.
The President will be concluding his visit to Baa Atoll and returning to the capital on Thursday.
His most recent visit to the atolls was on July 21 to thirteen islands in Noonu Atoll.
