Second school term begins today

The second school term of the year has begun after a two week break.

Students received the report for their first term on 24th July.

Students will get a mid-term break from 21st September to 25th September, for about a week.

The second term of studies will end on 25th December, with students going on break from 28th December to 22nd January.

The current administration has shifted the start of the academic year from mid-year, as implemented by the previous government, to January, with the long school break now falling in December.

There were more than 84,000 students this year in Maldives' schools, from preschool all the way up to the 12th Grade. There are currently 6,516 Maldivian teachers and 1,843 foreign teachers working in the Maldives.
