Electricity back up in Male' and Hulhumale'

STELCO has restored power to all parts of Male' and Hulhumale' after fixing an issue that stripped both islands of their electricity at 9:30am, as per the electrical company. They said that they kept bringing the power back section by section and had succeeded in bringing electricity back everywhere at 12:02pm. If customers still haven't gotten their power restored, STELCO has advises them to call their hotline at 104.

STELCO has announced that they have brought the power back in all of Hulhumale', with major parts in Male' following suit. They are currently working on energizing and synchronizing the Greater Male' Interconnection Grid and that "power will be restored within 40 minutes to all of Male' after the troubleshooting work has been completed."

Fahmy stated that Hulhumale' Phase 2 has gotten its power back.

STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy has stated that 60 percent of Hulhumale' and 50 percent of Male' has gotten its power back, and that all regions will have its power back within half an hour.

Large portions of the city still haven't gotten its power back after an hour. STELCO still hasn't given an estimate as to how long that will take.

As per STELCO, Hulhumale' Phase 1 has gotten its power back, with work on restoring power to Phase 2 is ongoing.

The generators have been powered up, with electricity being restored. There is no news as to when the issue ill be fully resolved.

Certain parts in Male', such as a few blocks in Galolhu, have had its power restored.

Male', Hulhumale' Phase 1 and Phase 2 lost all its power at 9:40am today, along with STELCO's engines.

STELCO said that the loss of electricty was caused by a technical issue.

This is the second instance where all of Male' has experienced a power outage.
