One dies after supply boat capsizes

A supply boat has capsized hear HDh. Kumundhoo, causing the death of one individual.

MNDF said that they had received reports of a supply boat carrying four persons capsizing at around 8:45am this morning.

Police said that the supply boat had been travelling from HDh. Kulhudhuffushi to Sh. Funadhoo when it capsized, throwing the four people overboard.

MNDF rescued all four and took them to HDh. Kulhudhuffushi.

One of the four, a 66 year old, later died while receiving treatment at the Kulhudhuffushi Hospital.

Seas across the country are rough these days owing to the Southwest Monsoon. A dinghy carrying 17 expatriates and travelling to K. Guraidhoo also capsized last night. All 17 persons aboard were rescued.
