One still in ICU following explosion on boat

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that one of the two individuals injured in the explosion on a boat in AA. Maalhos still remains under treatment in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

The incident occurred on the night of July 27, at around 8:45pm. The explosion occurred on a boat called 'Nasru 7' with two Indian crew members sustaining serious injuries. The two crew members were aged 40 and 33.

The two were initially treated at the Maalhos Health Centre, but were later transferred to Male' for additional treatment due to the severity of the injuries.

In IGMH, both were first treated in the ICU. IGMH Media Official said that the condition of both improved to the point where they no longer required ventilator support. One victim has been transferred to the ward, while the other still remains in ICU.

The boat's owner Ahmed Latheef believes that the incident on the boat occurred when the engine's battery exploded.
