Man arrested for vandalizing MDP party hub

A man has been arrested for vandalizing the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party's central hub on Chandhanee Magu.

Police said that they received reports of the vandalism at around 1:30am last night.

The man arrested on accusation of vandalism is Mohamed Razeen, 49, M. Star.

Photos on social media show that the steel gate of the party hub was severely damaged.

Razeen has a record of multiple arrests on various charges, including theft and drug related offences. His last arrest was for breaking the glass of a cafe' in Male'. Last December, Razeen was arrested for obstructing the duties of a police officer in IGMH, at which time he was remanded in custody for five days.
