No developments in investigation, autopsy revealed no new information

Police said that the autopsy conducted in the Alif Alif Maalhos, Orchidmaage resident Abdu'Rahman Adam's murder case revealed that he passed away due to head injuries.

Abdu'Rahman's body was taken Trivandrum, India for an autopsy on 21st July.

Adbu'Rahman, an active man at the age of 65, was attacked on the night 12th July and was discovered at 1am by his wife, Nazima Ibrahim. Nazima saw her husband wounded on the floor of his bathroom as she went into his room. The married couple were sleeping in two different rooms at the time.

Abdu'Rahman's injuries caused quite a bit of blood loss. As per the accounts of the individuals who had gone to her house when she requested aid, they stated that there was blood splatter on the walls and even the ceiling due to the attack.

At the time, Maalhos residents were saying that he had passed due to the injuries he sustained to his head and eye and that there were no other visible injuries on his body.

Police investigations have been going on for almost a month, with no further developments. No murder weapon nor a suspect has been found.

When sharing the latest information with the media, police stated that "no one has been apprehended yet."

Police have taken the fingerprints and footprints of all individuals who entered the house. They have also checked the CCTV cameras on the island, of which there are only a few.

Nazima's phone, which was taken via court order, was given back after the police had conducted an investigation into the device.

Nazima had stated that she had seen the footprint or footprints of a person or people who allegedly could have entered the house.

At the time of the incident, only Abdu'Rahman and his wife were at home. Their son Nimal, one of their three children who lives with them was in Male'.

Maalhos residents believe that whoever attacked Abdu'Rahman couldn't have been a resident of Maalhos, and that since Maalhos is an island that doesn't experience crime, something of this scale is only possible by residents from another island.

Abdu'Rahman's house is located in Hurasmagu of Maalhos, so some residents believe that it is possible that someone secretly entered the island via in the middle of the night and carried out such an act.
