The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has announced key leadership changes at two major state-owned enterprises—Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Road Development Corporation (RDC).

Ali Zuhair, formerly Managing Director of RDC, has been appointed to lead HDC as its new Managing Director. His appointment follows the resignation of former HDC MD, Mohamed Mauroof, earlier today.

Mauroof, a former Minister of Construction, had been scheduled to retire on August 18, with internal communication regarding his departure circulated to staff earlier this month. However, PCB confirmed that Mauroof resigned upon request.

Replacing Zuhair at RDC is Ibrahim Nazeem, who currently serves as the State Minister of Construction. Nazeem brings considerable experience in the housing and infrastructure sector, having previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Housing. He also served as Managing Director of the Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC), overseeing key infrastructure and road maintenance projects.

Ali Zuhair, a retired Brigadier General of the Maldives National Defence Force, was appointed to RDC in November 2023. His move to HDC marks a significant transition, as the corporation continues to oversee large-scale urban development and housing projects across the Maldives.
