Maavah killing suspect remanded in custody until end of trial

Mohamed Ibrahim, the individual who was apprehended concerning the Laamu Maavah murder is to be kept in custody until the end of the trial.

The media official for the police stated today that the court placed Mohamed Ibrahim, 29, from Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaranfaru in remand in custody until the end of trial.

The individual who was attacked has been identified as Maavah resident Moosa Ibrahim, 29.

Police quoted the health center where Moosa was brought stating that he had succumbed to his injuries, stab wounds to the neck, even before he was brought to the center.

A resident pf the island said the altercation was caused due to disputes regarding the sale of drugs.

It is alleged that Moosa Ibrahim was a drug dealer in Maavah. The assailant, Mohamed Ibrahim, was also a known drug user, according to residents.
