Maavah murder victim’s body brought to Malé for forensics

The body of Moosa Ibrahim, who was killed yesterday in L. Maavah, has been brought to Male' last night for further forensic investigations.

Police have not yet stated whether a post mortem will be conducted.

Moosa was killed in a violent altercation between him and another individual yesterday morning around 10:10am, where he was fatally stabbed in the neck. He was pronounced dead on arrival when taken to the island's Health Centre.

Accused in the case is Mohamed Ibrahim, Asaree Manzil, HDh. Nolhivaramfaru. He was arrested yesterday, and Police have since found a knife believed to be the murder weapon in the island's lagoon.

Police have also revealed that Mohamed Ibrahim has a prior record of drug related offences.
