President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake has arrived in Maldives for a state visit at the invitation of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
President Dissanayake and his delegation were received at Velana International Airport by President Muizzu.
An official welcome ceremony is scheduled to take place later today.
During the visit, the two leaders are expected to hold discussions aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties between both nations.

They are also due to deliver joint press statements outlining the outcomes of their discussions.
This marks President Dissanayake’s first state visit to Maldives since taking office in September 2024.
Maldives and Sri Lanka established diplomatic relations on 26 July 1965, this year marking the 60th anniversary of bilateral relations.
