The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has confirmed that it has so far received the names of 2,665 beneficiaries under the government’s 4,000-flat housing scheme, with the agreement signing process now officially underway.

The permanent recipient list—gazetted during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih—has been upheld by the current government, which has pledged to allocate flats to all eligible individuals on the list without pending issues.

FDC commenced the signing process for the landlord scheme on Monday. By Thursday, 71 agreements had been signed, with the process set to resume next Tuesday, following the long weekend and Independence Day holidays.

In a statement, the corporation urged recipients to ensure their documentation is complete, noting that missing paperwork continues to cause delays in the process.

Upon signing the agreement and paying the security deposit, tenants will receive their keys. Essential services—including water, electricity, gas, and cable—will be registered immediately after. However, access to the flats will only be granted once living permits are issued by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

FDC added that the signing process is expected to conclude by September, by which time construction across all towers will be nearing completion. Current efforts are focused on the installation of utilities and basic services.
