Sri Lankan President to make State Visit to Maldives

President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Disanayaka is scheduled to arrive in Maldives on an official visit on Monday.

The Sri Lankan President is visiting Maldives on a State Visit on invitation from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu from 28 to 30 July.

During the visit, President Disanayaka and President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will engage in official discussions to further strengthen cooperation between Sri Lanka and Maldives.

This marks President Disanayaka's first State visit to the Maldives since assuming office in September 2024.

Diplomatic relations between Maldives and Sri Lanka was established on July 26, 1965, with this year marking six decades of diplomatic ties.

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Maldives today on an official visit. The Prime Minister will be attending July 26 festivities as Guest of Honour.
