Police have announced that parking will be banned in the Green Zone and specified additional areas after 6 pm today due to the celebrations planned for Maldives' 60th Independence Day.
Police have instructed all vehicles parked in the area to be removed before 6 pm today.
Any vehicles that remain parked in the area after this deadline will be taken and relocated elsewhere, while illegally parked vehicles will be towed, Police said.

- Boduthakurufaanu Magu (from BML to Local Market)
- Ameer Ahmed Magu (upto Majeedhiya School)
- Medhuziyaaraiy Magu
- Streets around People's Majlis
- Chaandhanee Magu (from the corner of Lily Magu to Republic Square)
- Lily Magu (the area around Sultan Park)
The government has prepared for Independence Celebrations, which are set to feature floats, parades and more. Government offices are closed until Monday, to allow for festive celebrations.
A flag hoisting ceremony will be held at the Republic Square on the morning of July 26, followed by military drills and other activities in the evening. Festivities are planned until July 28 in both Male' and Hulhumale'.
