President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that patriotism must be prioritized above political differences.
Speaking during his visit to Velidhoo on his ongoing tour of the inhabited islands of Noonu atoll, President Muizzu saidthat elected officials must not allow political affiliations to obstruct developmental efforts.
“Development plans can only be fully realized with the cooperation of Parliament Members and Councilors. Otherwise no matter how many airports, harbors, hospitals or schools are established, true development will never be seen” the President said.
He urged MP's to set aside differences and support initiatives that benefit the public.
He reiterated that true patriotism means putting the country ahead of personal or political interests.
President Muizzu said that only by doing so can Maldives preserve its dignity, ensure stability, and safeguard the future of its younger generations.
“Patriotism must be the foundation of genuine national development,” President Muizzu said.
He said that national development depends on unity and selfless service and called for a renewed sense of national unity and collective responsibility.
