Gas explosion in a cafe' in Hulhumale'

A gas leak, leading to an explosion in a cafe' in Hulhumale' Phase 1 has caused damage to the premises.

The incident occurred at around 9:30pm last night at Coffee Residence - a recently opened cafe' in Hulhumale' Phase 1.

Police said that the explosion occurred when the stove had been lit while there had been a gas leak.

Police said that no persons had been injured in the incident.

The premises were not affected by a fire, but the explosion led to the glass in windows and doors being shattered, Police said.

Police said that they are conducting necessary investigations into the incident.
