The President assured Zakiyya's family that he would do all possible to ensure justice is served.
Holhudhoo was today's last stop for the President on his ongoing visit to Noonu atoll.
When the President arrived on the island, Zakiyya's family and some concerned residents of the island had gathered holding placards calling for justice in the case.
An associate who accompanied the President on his visit said that the President had met separately with Zakiyya's family and concerned residents on their request and listened to their concerns.
"The President listened to their concerns regarding the investigation. The family shared complaints with the President regarding Police actions on the initial day of the investigation as well. After listening to all their concerns, the President said that he will do everything necessary to ensure that justice is served," they said.
