STELCO has said that the power cut in parts of Hulhumale' Phase 2 earlier today was caused due to an issue with the transformer at STO flats.

At around 12:22pm today, Hiyaa Flats, MACL flats, STELCO flats, STO flats, MWSC flats and Hassan Adam Mosque experienced a power cut.

STELCO Media Official Ahmed Mohamed said that this was caused by an issue that arose in the transformers providing electricity to the STO Hiyaa flats.

Electricity has been restored in most areas, while STELCO continues efforts to reconnect power to the STO Hiyaa flats and Hassan Adam Mosque.
