Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan has officially retired from office as of today.
Judicial Service Commission (JSC) announced that nominations for the post of Chief Justice will be accepted until 29 July.
Candidates must hold a first degree in law and have at least seven years of experience as a judge or practicing lawyer. The President will submit nominations to Parliament based on the JSC’s recommendations.

Following his retirement, the administration of the Supreme Court has been temporarily handed over to Justice Abdulla Hameed.
