Motorist injured with stray nylon fishing line entangled around neck

Police have said tonight that they have received reports of a motorist on the Sinamale' Bridge sustaining injuries when a stray nylon fishing line flew by and entangled around their neck.

The motorist was travelling on a motorcycle from Male' to Hulhumale' last Thursday night when the incident occurred.

An additional individual was also harmed in the incident, Police said.

Police said that they are in deliberations with related institutions to take necessary measures in regards to the incident.

It has become increasingly common now to see people engaged in recreational fishing on the sides of the bridge and highway using fishing lines wrapped around plastic bottles.
