President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has today met with Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Secretary General of the Commonwealth.
The meeting took place today during the President's ongoing official visit to the UK.
At the meeting, the Secretary General reiterated the Commonwealth's commitment towards supporting Maldives in key areas.
The President highlighted Maldives' vision to achieve developed country status by 2040, noting the importance of cooperation with the Commonwealth to achieve this.
The meeting between the President and the Secretary-General addressed a broad spectrum of shared interests, notably democratic principles, economic partnerships, and sustainable sectoral development in fisheries and tourism.
