Speaking at a meeting of Parliament's Public Accounts Committee yesterday, the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) proposed that a separate office be set up to oversee the recovery of State funds lost in corruption cases.
Yesterday's committee meeting was held closed on the request of the ACC.
An MP who attended the meeting said that discussions had centered on setting up a separate office to expedite investigations into difficult and serious cases of corruption.
One of the suggestions was to set up a Serious Fraud office to recover lost funds.
Yesterday’s meeting agenda featured a discussion on challenges faced by the ACC in carrying out its work.
Also included was obtaining updates on the case of renting NSPA offices.
