Secretary Generals being sought for 28 councils

The announcement states that there will be two levels of secretary generals. One level will have a salary and executive allowance of MVR 16,100, while the other will have a salary and executive allowance of MVR 15,285, with a contract of five years each.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced the search for secretary generals for 28 council posts have begun.

The announcement states that there will be two levels of secretary generals. One of the levels will have a salary and executive allowance of MVR 16,100, while the other will have a salary and executive allowance of MVR 15,285, with a contract of five years for both.

The CSC has stated 35% of the salary will be allocated towards a special duty allowance.

They have also stated that due to the seniority of the position, secretary generals will not be eligible for overtime pay.

CSC has stated that the position of secretary general will be filled by, as per the stated policies, individuals who have past experience and responsibilities in administration or management roles, along with individuals who have experience in being secretary generals to local councils.

Previous experience is to also include experience in administrative tasks as well. Tasks such as writing reports, record keeping and writing letters are inclusions.

Individuals who are interested are to submit the relevant documents via email by 2:00pm on July 21 to the CSC.

Individuals who applied will be made aware of the amount of points they have received within three to 15 business days, not counting public holidays.
