Mohamed Iyaan Ali Adam has always loved reciting quran, even from the time he was a young child. Today, at just eighteen years of age, Iyaan is the first Hafiz in N. Fohdhoo.
Iyaan's mother Haamidha Ibrahim told Mihaaru News that Iyaan had aspired to memorize the Quran from when he was very young. The family tried to support him on this path.
Iyaan did not receive the opportunity to join the Hafiz training programs in 2015 and 2016 through failing the interview process.

Despite this, Iyaan continued efforts to memorize the Quran at home even during these years. In 2017, he received the chance to study at the National Centre for the Holy Quran. By then, he had already memorized three juz of the Quran.
"It took Iyaan five years to memorize the Quran. This is because two years went by without lessons due to Covid," his mother said.
Iyaan passed at top level after completing memorization of the Quran.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed said that Iyaan had begun reciting the Quran Memorization Centre on May 19, and had completed it by June 30.
He recited a Juz each day, completing the Quran in thirty days.

The Minister met with Iyaan and his family at the Islamic Centre today. He advised Iyaan to continue on the path.
According to Haamidha, the biggest challenge Iyaan faced was time constraints, with him currently studying in Grade 12 at Villa International School. As he is studying two streams, he spends a significant amount of time on studies as well. Even with these challenges, Iyaan persevered and achieved the memorization of the entire Quran.
