Police rescue victim in second case of abduction today

Police have today rescued a Maldivian man being held captive in a house in Male'. One suspect has been taken into custody.

In another case, police saved a Bangladeshi man this morning who was also being held against his will in a Male' residence.

Police said that they received reports yesterday of a Maldivian man being held captive in a house in capital Male' City.

Police have rescued the captive, and arrested one suspect from the scene of the crime. The suspect has been identified as Ibrahim Saeed, Suvaasaage, S. Feydhoo.

The abducted victim is a 44-year-old Maldivian man currently receiving treatment for injuries at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, police confirmed.
