35 scholarships in Islamic Finance announced by MMA

The MMA has announced 35 scholarship slots in the field of Islamic Finance.

MMA introduced the "MMA Tamweel Islamic Finance Initiative" earlier this year in February so that people who have an interest in Islamic Finance can undergo training and increase their base of knowledge and awareness.

1. Executive Masters in Islamic Finance: Five slots with full funding and five partially funded slots

2. Micro certification in Executive Masters in Islamic Finance (eMIF) at Malaysian university International Center for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF): Five slots

3. Certificate in Sharia Economics for Banking and Finance (CSEBF) by University Islam Selangor (UIS) in Malaysia: 20 slots

The aim of this program is to increase the number of experts in Maldives in the Islamic Finance sector who have undergone the proper studies, awareness activities and specialized training, which in turn will bolster the sector in Maldives for the better.

This program was organized in partnership by INCEIF and UIS.

MMA has stated that the Bank Negara (Malaysia's central bank) funded and established university of INCEIF is a relatively renowned institute in the field of research. UIS is also a well-known establishment for its quality of study in Islamic Finance and Islamic Economics.
