NSPA spent MVR 7.4 million on ADK, TTH admissions in June

National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has revealed that the agency spent MVR 7.4 million as assistance towards the treatment of in-patients at the two main private hospitals in Maldives, ADK Hospital and Tree Top Hospital in June.

National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has revealed that the agency spent MVR 7.4 million as assistance towards the treatment of in-patients at the two main private hospitals in Maldives, ADK Hospital and Tree Top Hospital in June.

NSPA provides financial assistance beyond Aasandha Coverage for medical treatments to those in need. Statistics shared by NSPA indicate that the agency provided assistance to 190 patients admitted at ADK last month, coming to a total of MVR 3.2 million.

The highest amount of aid was provided to persons receiving cardiac treatments. A total of MVR 994,871 was issued as support to 14 cardiac patients.

Among patients admitted at ADK for treatment, the most common was cases of orthopaedic patients and childbirth, with 27 cases of each recorded. There were also 18 gastrointestinal cases and 16 respiratory disease cases.

NSPA also provided aid of MVR 4.1 million to patients admitted at Tree Top Hospital. Here, the highest amount of aid was issued to orthopaedic patients, reaching MVR 1,221,484 on 32 cases.

In Tree Top Hospital cases, the highest prevalence was of patients admitted after childbirth. There were 64 reported cases of this. The second highest condition needing in-patient treatment was orthopaedic cases, at 53. There were also 40 gastrointestinal cases.

While NSPA has issued MVR 7.4 million as aid in June alone, Aasandha spending in the first five months of the year has also reached MVR 950 million. The total annual budget for Aasandha is MVR 1.8 billion.
