Male' City Council to participate in Mayor Forum in Austria

A delegation from the Male' City Council has left today to Austria to participate in the Mayors Forum of the World Cities Summit.

The 14th Mayors Forum is being held in Vienna, Austria from July 2 to 4.

From Male' City Council, Mayor Adam Azim, Deputy Mayor Mohamed Areesh, Hulhumale' Councilor Ali Aiman and Secretary General Abdul Muhaimin Naseer are to participate in this forum.

Mayor Azim emphasized that it is important for smaller nations such as Maldives to be represented in such forums.

He said that policy level decisions made amongst mayors from across the world at the forum will benefit Male'.

Azim said that participation in the forum will provide the opportunity to build relations with leaders from various cities in the world, share experiences and practices, and discuss unique challenges faced by cities.

The last Mayors Forum of the World Cities Summit was held in Singapore.
