Maldives and Singapore have signed MOUs for cooperation in three areas today.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is currently in Singapore on a State visit on invitation from Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and senior officials of the government are accompanying him on this trip.
In a ceremony held today following President Muizzu's meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, MOUs were signed for cooperation in the fields of capacity building, environment, and higher education, education policies and technical field.

The ceremony was held at Singapore's Foreign Ministry.
The MOU on capacity building was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel and Singapore Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan.
The MOU on cooperation in environmental protection was signed by Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim and Singapore's Minister of Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu.
The MOU on higher education. education policies and technical field was signed by Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development Dr Ali Haidar and Singapore's IT Education Service Chief Executive Goh Mong Song.

During his visit, President Muizzu has met with both Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
