MET Office has warned that some islands may see wave surges during high tide.

Capital Male' City has been experiencing strong swell waves since yesterday on the eastern side, near the Carnival area, as well as near the Industrial Zone on the south.

MET Office said that northern atolls will see high tide today around 2:29 pm. Central atolls will see high tide at around 3.12 pm with wave heights of 2.7 feet.

MET Office has three tide stations in the country, in HDh. Hanimadhoo, Hulhule' and S. Gan.

Rain and thunderstorms are predicted across the country today, with heavy showers expected in north and central Maldives.
