Outpatient services at Hulhumale' Hospital have resumed following the resolution of a power outage earlier today.

The hospital said that the issue had been resolved and thanked staff, the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), and the State Electric Company (STELCO) for their assistance.

Outpatient services had temporarily been relocated to the General Practice Clinic at Hiyaa Flat 16 in Hulhumale' Phase 2 while work was underway to fix the issue.

Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem, CEO of the Male' City Group of Hospitals, told Mihaaru News that the outage was due to a fault in the cable supplying electricity from the hospital's transformers to the main building.

“When the power was switched on, it kept tripping. So, STELCO installed a temporary cable. Full power was restored at 8:33 am today,” Haleem said.

He added that aside from the temporary relocation of outpatient services, all other hospital functions remained uninterrupted.
