Two minors are in serious condition following a motorcycle accident in Raa atoll Fainu last night.
The incident occurred when a motorcycle, reportedly driven by a minor, struck a group of people who were exercising. The injured were first treated at Fainu Health Centre before being transferred to Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital.
Hassan Fazeel, Senior Customer Relations Officer at Ungoofaaru Hospital, told Mihaaru News that the victims were admitted at 9.35 pm.
All were treated in the emergency room.

Two of the injured, both adults over the age of 18, are in stable condition. However, two minors under the age of 18 sustained serious injuries. Fazeel said a CT scan had been conducted and that doctors would be able to provide further updates based on the results.
It has been revealed that the motorcycle was being ridden by a student from Fainu School. The group struck by the vehicle included the school principal and a teacher. The principal is said to be in stable condition, but the teacher sustained serious leg injuries.
Fazeel said that the two children involved in the accident were in critical condition and were being treated in the hospital’s ICU.
Doctors later decided to transfer the two minors and one of the injured adults to Male' for further treatment.
The children were airlifted from Raa Atoll Ifuru Airport to Male' by air ambulance at 9.30 am today. The adult is expected to be transferred later today.
“They are still in serious condition,” Fazeel said.
