Terrorism charges to be pressed against three

Police have forwarded the cases of three individuals for prosecution on charges of terrorism.

It is believed that that the three are those arrested in a joint operation run by Police and MNDF during March this year. Although it was revealed at the time that three persons had been arrested, no further details regarding the case had been disclosed.

Prosecutor General's Office Media Official confirmed that they have accepted the case submitted by Police concerning charges of terrorism against three individuals.

The official said that a decision on prosecution would be made by July 7.

"This is a very serious case. Details of this will be shared at a later date," they said.

Police earlier announced that they would be holding a press conference yesterday to disclose information regarding the fire at the Housing Ministry and a terrorism case. However, the press conference was later cancelled.
