Fire breaks out at a Vinares flat

A fire incident occured at an apartment in the Vinares Flats in Hulhumale' Phase 2 this morning, causing extensive damage.

MNDF Fire Service confirmed that no persons were injured in the incident.

MNDF said that the incident occurred in Apartment 6 on the 13th floor of Vinares Tower 9.

MNDF attended the incident at 07:41am after receiving reports that smoke was seen coming out of the apartment.

The Hulhumale' Fire Station had responded to the incident, and put out the fire, MNDF said.

Photos shared by MNDF show a bunk bed in the room entirely burned out, as well as the curtains having caught fire.

While it is said that the fire started on a mattress, the cause is so far unclear.
