President’s Office has announced the opening of the nomination process for four upcoming vacancies on the Board of Directors of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), as the terms of the current members near expiration.
MIRA’s board comprises seven members, including the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, and the Commissioner General of Taxation.
Applications are now open and will be accepted until 12:00 noon on 6 July.
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in taxation, economics, finance, accounting, business, or law from a recognized institution or hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of the relevant fields, with five years of experience in the field.
Additional eligibility requirements include:
- Must not belong to any political party
- Must not hold any operational responsibility or board membership in a government or private company
- Must not be serving in any elected position under the Constitution or any law
- Must not have been convicted of bribery or any crime specified under Islamic law
- Must not be declared bankrupt
