Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, who was injured following a fall from a building in Male', has been discharged from hospital but her condition is not good enough to give a statement for the investigation, her family said.
A member of Yumnu's family told Mihaaru News today said that Yumnu has been discharged from the hospital in Malaysia a week ago after receiving treatment. As the funds raised earlier from the public has been exhausted, the family has decided to start physiotherapy as soon as more funds are available.
Yumnu was found fallen on the roof of H. Mitaazge from H. fentenoy on the morning of April 18. She was treated at IGMH first before being taken to Malaysia.
The family said Yumnu suffered permanent injuries to her elbow and damage to her brain is also not completely recovered. While she is now on bed rest, she can communicate.
Police and the Presidential Commission set up to investigate the fall have tried to take statements. However, a doctor's letter has been sent to both agencies saying that they cannot take a statement due to her condition.
"Quite a lot of calls to take statements were received. Then after they officially sent a request, a medical condition letter was sent to the police and the commission that the state is not fit enough to give statement," the family member said speaking on behalf of the family.
The family member said the information was shared with the relevant authorities on the advice of the family's lawyers.
"There are still brain seizure episodes," the family said.
The Presidential Commission has completed its report on the fall of Yumnu. It had been decided to make the report public without any changes.
