Religious scholar Sheikh Fareed passes away

Well known local Islamic scholar Sheikh Ibrahim Fareed Ahmed has passed away today.

It has been reported that Sheikh Fareed passed away today while in Malaysia to attend a conference.

Fareed had travelled to Malaysia today. While still at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Fareed collapsed and was administered first aid. However, he was pronounced dead a short while later.

Sheikh Fareed has delivered many sermons, and was looked up to by many.

He is the younger brother of scholar Ali Zaid.
