An issue has come to light where State media PSM broadcast a song by Hiyala entertainment group without permission.

The song, titled 'Eid boamathivanee' was released on YouTube by Hiyala, with 85,000 views to date. The song is also trending on other social media channels.

The song was aired by PSM in their Eid coverage yesterday. TVM aired the song stating it was a 'gift received'.

However, Hiyala has expressed discontent with the airing of the song. In a post on Facebook, they said that the song had been aired without their permission. They said that neither PSM, nor any other broadcasters, had been given permission to air the song.

Hiyala said that airing the song without their permission is highly unprofessional, and also breaches upon their rights.

They said that they will approach relevant authorities to take legal action against the matter.

PSM has not commented on the issue.
